The SOURCE Awards

For more than 40 years, the SOURCE Awards have recognized the best and brightest in lighting design.

Judging and Awards

Judging for the 42nd annual SOURCE Awards competition will take place in March 2019. Projects will be reviewed by a professional, independent panel of lighting and design professionals as well as a representative of the SOURCE lighting educational center.

  • Project: Salt: A Persian Experience, An Authentic Persian Restaurant
  • Student Winner: Elizabeth Hundley

For Students

Student lighting design projects submitted to the SOURCE Awards are judged on the creativity, selection and application of the lighting fixtures and energy efficiency. Special consideration may be given to projects displaying energy savings and sustainability as a result of the lighting.

Student Awards:

  • Grand Prize Winner: $2,000 + crystal trophy in recognition of the project’s excellence and the application of Eaton’s lighting products
  • Up to 5 Honorable Mention Prizes: $500 each + crystal trophy in recognition of the project’s excellence and the application of Eaton’s lighting products
    • Examples of potential Honorable Mention Awards include creativity, best use of natural light, controls integration, energy efficiency and customization
  • Special Award of Recognition: Crystal trophy in recognition of the project’s excellence and the application of Eaton’s lighting products
    • Awarded at judge’s discretion
  • Invitation to attend a lighting seminar of choice (along with a faculty advisor) at the SOURCE Lighting Education Center, located in Peachtree City, Georgia
  • Local and national recognition through publicity and advertising

Students and their faculty advisor will be recognized and honored at LIGHTFAIR International in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in May.

Student awards include:

  • Crystal trophy in recognition of the project’s excellence and the application of Eaton’s lighting products
  • Cash award of up to $2,000
  • Local and national recognition through publicity and advertising
  • Invitation to attend a lighting seminar of choice (along with faculty advisor) at the SOURCE lighting educational center, located in Peachtree City, Georgia
